Concerts

Supported by renowned orchestras the University Choir holds multiple major concerts every year in Magdeburg alone. Most of the works performed are sacred music. Fixes dates are our advent concert in St. Petri, and Bach's Christmas Oratorio in St. Johannis.

The choir also performs beyond Magdeburg. Since it was founded more than 20 years ago, the choir has embarked on many exciting concert tours. Highlights undoubtedly include the performance of the Christmas Oratorio in the Salesian Church in Nazareth and the Abbey of the Dormition in Jerusalem in 1997.

Further tours lead our singers to Budapest, Rome, Assisi, Innsbruck, Paris, and Strassebourg. The choir performed in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, the New Cathedral in Linz, and St. Paul's Church in Passau. For its anniversary in 2013, the choir undertook a tour to Israel.
